Getting started in a training program is really dependant upon who is doing the training as well as yourself. For myself, I am quite willing to talk, and to begin to show one what submission would be like, and to try teaching what I can, but for real training to start I want a contract from the student. For me, the contract is the real starting point because it shapes the whole of training, what gets covered and what the limits of the student are. I also use it to define my responsibility, what do I need to do to keep this person happy, what am I committing myself to. Before asking for a contract I prefer to work with a very loose commitment - the only thing needed for either party to end the introductory period is a reason. While in the introductory period there are still rules and expectations that would be expected to be followed, at least once one has agreed to them. This will give a taste or feel without any long obligation. During this time, the focus is on learning each other, and learning each other in a BDSM context, even if done at a distance. Before even asking someone to agree to follow the rules I am more than happy to talk, will try help you determine where you want to head, even if it's not towards me |
