Before I get too deep I will say several negative things about contracts. Many people don't like to use them as they feel they put too much formality into a relationship and/or are very difficult to get right to the point where both/all parties are reasonably well protected and get what they actually want. It is not legal to consent to an illegal activity so contracts for slavery or for training for slavery are not legally binding to either party and in extreme instances may be used as circumstantial evidence of an illegal activity. (more on legalities) With all that negative, what are good things about contracts? They can be used to show consent to activities and this can be used to get charges reduced and/or dropped. Not thinking in a paranoid vein, contracts allow a clear definition of goals and hard limits. They become a source document to refer back to in case of question or doubt. They can also be used as a measure of progress depending on what is spelled out in them. To me, the clarity they can provide is definitely something worth having. Understanding the reasons for and against contracts, what is in them? The best I can do at the moment is to point you at a search on slave contracts so that you can see the multitude of them out there. Some of the common themes are the definition of parties, the definition and responsibilities of the roles of each of the parties, the limits of each party (and what happens if the limits are breached), what each party needs during the period covered by the contract, the length of the contract, the ending conditions of the contract and perhaps ways to renew and/or re-negotiate the contract. Contracts for me signify the point at which the training really begins. I want the trainee to create the first draft of the contract on her own to symbolize her offering to me, and we will work from that point to (hopefully) find a point where we are both comfortable committing to. I want it this way because drafting the contract provides her with the best opportunity to put in her requests, limits, desires and needs without interference from me (who at that point she will already be feeling submissive to and as though she can trust me near completely, else she would not be wanting to undertake a contract). If I were to be involved in the first draft, as objective as I might try to be, I know I will end up putting my own words down, with a draft of her creation to work from, it is much more likely that we will be able to establish what she really wants so that her training can be tailored to it. |
