While these things don't really relate to BDSM, I do find them to be worhty of metion, and hope you would take the time to at least look at them. Some are old favorites, while others are more recent endeavors.
| Blade Runner DVD Director's Cut Blade Runner VHS Director's Cut | This movie, originally made in 1982, still packs quite the visual punch even when compared to todays films. Based on the excellent Philip K. Dick novella Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep this is a sci-fi masterpiece with enough depth that even after the 5th (or more) viewing you are still seeing new things in the movie. Long a cult favorite, there has been one question left unanswered in audiences' minds until mid 2000 when Ridley Scott (the director) finally revealed his intent behind the movie. Is Deckard (Harrison Ford) human or android?. |
| This book is probably my favorite out of everything I have ever
read. Certainly, Heinlein is my favorite author, as no one has
ever caused me to think quite the way his books have. To be fair
however, I can never grow up with another author quite the way I
grew up reading various Heinlein stories. This one is about a man,
born and raised on Mars, who has never seen a human until the next
ship arrives about 20 some years after his birth. It's about
seeing humanity from the outside, while looking deepky at
ourselves from the inside. Written in the late 60's, this book definitely shows it's time in how the future is predicted. (By the chronology of this book, Mars will have been explored by people before today, and the Moon will have a permanent colony upon it.) Still, the writing and characters are excellent, and I recommend it heartily. | Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein |

| Friday by Robert A. Heinlein | Another wonderful book by Heinlein, this one about a genetically enhanced spy girl, and what happens after the agency she works for is decommissioned. A lot to think about as we move into the future of genetic engineering and cloning. |
| Red Hat Linux | Red Hat Linux is the cream of the crop of Linux distributions. What is Linux you might ask, well it's an operating system co-developed by thousands of volunteer programmers around the world, and one where every user is fully empowered to configure and reprogram everything about the OS for themselves. I use it for my home and work computers as it's much more reliable than anything else out there. This includes web browsers, photo software, editors, office software and more, all for less than HALF the cost of a competitive operating system. | |
